New vehicle retail sales projected to go in January 681,000 units, an increase of 6 per cent from January 2011. This represents an annual rate seasonally adjusted (SAAR) of 6.8 million units, which is lower than the level of sales in December 2011 but above January 2011. Retail transaction is the most accurate measurement of the true underlying consumer demand for new vehicles.
