Nearly 89,000 Mini car brands, including the Mini Cooper vehicles, which are given in the us because of broken water pump that can function and potentially cause the engine compartment fires.
Recall comes some three months after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a defects investigation, citing reports of fires in vehicles 12 produced by BMW.
Five of the fires reportedly destroyed the car, according to NHTSA documents. BMW said it was aware of the injury or accidents caused by the pump malfunctions.
